Human Rights First today called on the Trump Administration to condemn the actions of Bahraini security forces who reportedly attacked peaceful protesters in the village of Diraz.

Saudi Arabia on Wednesday defended the actions of Bahraini authorities who opened fire on a protest by supporters of a top Shiite cleric, killing five people.

The Ministry of Interior announced in a statement on (May 23, 2017) that the police arrested 286 individuals while dispersing a protest outside Sheikh Isa Qassim’s house.

Saudi Arabia said that it supports what it called “the measures that Bahrain takes to protect its security, stability and safety, such as the latest measures taken by the Bahraini security apparatuses in the village of Diraz to protect public security and order.”

Hezbollah blamed the Al Saud regime for the attack launched on Sheikh Isa Qassim and peaceful locals protesting outside his home in Diraz, deeming Saudi Arabia the real decision maker behind what is taking place in Bahrain.
