Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): The Bahraini youth Ahmad Jalal Al-Hamad did not know that his wedding might be an end to a short life he spent in hiding. The security authorities have been pursuing him for a while over his political activism. Ahmad managed to evade them time and time again, yet this period has come to an end and another stage of torture has begun.
He wanted to celebrate his wedding in Al-Markh along with his friends, who are avoiding capture like him for the same reasons. The photo shows a beautiful decorated stage; he should have been there to be congratulated by the people of his village. Suddenly, everything changed. The happy moments ended and he joined the thousands of Bahrainis languishing behind bars. Ahmad was arrested.
A security authority raided the wedding and vehicles surrounded the place. They checked the identities of the invitees. Besides Ahmad, the authorities found 10 other wanted suspects over political cases. Ahmad had prepared himself for his wedding and wore his most elegant suit. Destiny; however, had something different in mind. Ahmad was arrested along with two of his brothers. He couldn't even listen to the special song played for his wedding ceremony. The regime does not want him to be a groom; it wants him to either be pursued or imprisoned.
Ahmad joined 4,000 other prisoners like him. One day, when the dictatorship wakes up from the arrogance of power and discovers that it is taking the country to an endless abyss, Ahmad will continue his wedding.
