Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Public Prosecution decided on Monday (October 31, 2016) to detain the prominent Shiite cleric Sheikh Hani Al-Banaa for 15 days after accusing him of inciting hatred against the regime and disobedience of law.
Al-Budai police station summoned on Thursday Sheikh Al-Banaa to appear before it for interrogation on Sunday (October 30, 2016) and decided to detain him to present him to the prosecution.
The Bahraini authorities have escalated their campaign against Shiite clerics since June 2016, after they revoked the citizenship of the Shiite majority spiritual leader, Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim. The authorities also arrested and summoned dozens of clerics over taking part in Diraz protest and inciting hatred against the regime.
