To the King of Bahrain: You Are a Murderer

Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): During the events of the 1990s and during one of the stages of the uprising in Bahrain, the Bahraini citizens shockingly witnessed military tanks, perhaps for the first time, as they were being deployed in various areas across the country. At the time, there was a rumor circulating that the then Bahraini Crown Prince Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa (the current King of Bahrain) was the person behind the decision to confront the protestors with tanks in order to put an instant end to the movement.

Between that undocumented information and the truth that only those who reside in the royal palace actually know, no one managed to figure out what had happened. A few days passed and the tanks were withdrawn from the streets, and so the crackdown on protestors was limited to the Interior Ministry forces, including the notorious state security corpse.

Hamad bin Isa came into power and it was not until 2011 that he was truly put to the test. A lot was said at the time and a lot is still being said.

It was said that the Khawalid (a branch of the house of Khalifa) were the ones in control, while others said that the old national Guard led by Khalifa bin Salman were the ones in charge. Saudi Arabia was also blamed for the killing of protestors.

In spite of the slogan "Down, down Hamad" adopted and chanted by demonstrators, it was not a difficult task to brush the king aside from all of this and hold a lower-ranking official (like the Interior Minister and his team) accountable.

Throughout the past six years of the uprising and all the sufferings it brought forth, it was effortless to pin the blame on the security servicemen and officers instead of their superior the Interior Minister or even his superior the King himself. This was a game mastered by some, who played it for political reasons. They justify this by claiming that there is no physical evidence of the King's involvement in what was happening to the citizens.

However, now after January 15, 2017, it is no longer possible to exclude the King and claim that his hands are not stained with blood. After this day, it is no longer possible to say that King Hamad bin Isa did not order the killing of Bahrainis based on political motives.

The Bahraini law stipulates that death sentences are required to be conclusive and can only be implemented with the approval of the King.

The King approved the execution of Abbas Al-Samee', Sami Mushaima' and Ali Al-Singace, young Bahraini political prisoners who were convicted based on confessions extracted under torture. The whole world heard what Abbas Al-Samee' said behind bars after the death penalty was issued against him in 2015.

King Hamad could have not approved the death sentences, as there is no law that specifies a limited period of time for approving a court order. We; however, are well aware that Hamad bin Isa wanted, since day one, to implement the death penalty, because the one who was killed in Al-Daih was an Emirati national imported by his regime to crack down on protestors and crush them.

The order to execute these three Bahrainis this time was issued from the Al-Safriya palace and the approval held Hamad bin Isa's signature.

On this day (January 15, 2017), Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa released an official testament proving that he is a murderer. The mothers of martyrs Abbas Al-Samee', Sami Mushaima' and Ali Al-Singace warned him very clearly that "he shall be held accountable before God for spilling the blood of their innocent sons."
