Video: US State Department Expressed Concerns over Suspension of “Al-Wasat Online” Newspaper

Bahrain Mirror: The US State Department expressed its concerns over the decision of the Government of Bahrain to suspend the online version of the independent newspaper that has close ties with the opposition.
The US State Department Spokesperson John Kirby said in the daily press briefing held in the state department's building on Tuesday (January 17, 2017) that its country is "concerned by the decision of the Government of Bahrain to suspend the online version of the independent newspaper, Al-Wasat."
He added "we believe that a free press that is allowed to peacefully voice criticisms of the government plays a vital role in inclusive pluralistic governments and societies."
