Bahrain Mirror: The FIFA Congress was held on Thursday (May 11, 2017) in Bahrain with the participation of Israeli Football Union amid popular Bahraini rejection.
For his part, Palestinian Football Association head Jibril Rajoub delivered a speech in front of the council in which he demanded to impose penalties on six Israeli clubs that play Israeli League matches on the 1967 occupied Palestinian territories.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, to ask him to withdraw the Palestinian proposal from the agenda of the conference held in the Bahraini capital, Manama.
The conference held in Manama with an Israeli participation prompted angry reactions on social media outlets. Meanwhile, civil societies issued a statement demanding the government to reverse the decision to host the sports assembly.
