Bahrain Mirror: Attorney General Ahmad Al-Hammadi announced the conclusion of the investigation into the formation of a terrorist group and detonation of several explosives, one of which led to the killing of policeman Salman Anjom, adding that five defendants were referred to the competent court, one of whom imprisoned and four wanted fugitives. They were accused of forming and organizing a terrorist group, causing explosions, having possession of weapons and explosives, and training on the use of the weapons and explosives, murder and attempted murder of policemen and civilians for terrorist purposes and the destruction of property owned by others. The hearing of the case is scheduled for February 20, 2018 before the Fourth Criminal Court.

On November 15, 2017, the Interior Ministry announced that it had arrested one of the accused of involvement in the explosion of a police bus on October 27, 2017, which left policeman Salman Anjom killed and nine others injured.

According to the Interior Ministry, the accused worked with another abroad in a cell linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
The Ministry explained that the discovery of this terrorist cell contributed to thwarting a major scheme that was aimed at targeting certain state figures as well as 3 locations of oil pipelines in the country, i.e. after the cell monitored these locations and prepared the explosive devices for use in the implementation of these terrorist crimes.

The Interior Ministry confirmed that the cell includes Qassim Abdullah Ali (Qassim Moemen), a fugitive in Iran, who was stripped of his nationality and sentenced to life imprisonment in political cases. The Ministry said that he is responsible for coordinating the training of terrorist members; Sadiq Jaafar Al Tawq, a fugitive in Iran, Zuhair Ibrahim Jassim Abdullah, who is in custody and participated in the planning and implementation of a series of terrorist acts, received training on the use of explosives and weapons in Iran, had in his possession an encrypted phone programmed in Iran and an Iranian sim card for communicating with members of the terrorist cell and exchanging encrypted messages, and Mahdi Ibrahim Jassim Abdullah, a fugitive located in Iran, who is sentenced to 30 years in prison in a number of political cases, and Mohammad Mahdi Mohammad Hassan, who is also at large.
