Bahrain’s Anti-Cyber Crimes Directorate Warns Citizens of Attempts to Hack and Steal Data on Whatsapp

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Anti-Cyber Crime Directorate has warned against theft of private information and phone numbers installed in the Whatsapp social networking program.
The warning said that this was achieved via e-mails send through Whatsapp installed on the mobile phone by individuals or unknown groups, as they request information and send fake messages via mobile devices, and immediately the hacker is given private information of the owner of the phone, the hacker gains total control over the communication software and uses it to demand cash or hack other people by means of the victim's phone number.
A number of people have recently complained about the theft of their accounts on Whatsapp.
This Directorate of the Interior Ministry has called on all users to ignore these types of messages, also noting that they should be reported immediately.
