Bahrain Mirror: One day after Ayatollah Sheik Isa Qassim issued a statement calling on political societies to unify their ranks, the Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society said that Islamic and national unity is a strategic choice that it will not deviate from.

Al-Wefaq stressed that this option is among its firm beliefs because it sees it as a basis for taking action.

"We recommend that we, ourselves, and our fellow opposition members from all political parties take responsibility and overcome difficulties to bring visions closer," Al-Wefaq said.

"We have exerted efforts and we will not hesitate to do anything that reinforces the unified word and stance," it said, adding that "there is still great hope despite the many obstacles, but it is the legitimate and national responsibility that cannot be abandoned."

Al-Wefaq further stated that its "approach and project is what Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassem has expressed," stressing that they find in that a path towards the safety of religion and the homeland.
