Al-Wefaq Secretary General on the evening prior to his trial: I stated my demands directly to the King.. I am ready to spend my whole life as a prisoner

Bahrain Mirror (exclusive): Sheikh Ali Salman, the Secretary General of Al-Wefaq the main opposition group, said on the evening prior to his trial tomorrow (Wednesday, January 28, 2015) that the investigations conducted with him were related to the demands he presented in front of the the King and his Crown Prince.
Salman's official account on Twitter transferred tweets in which he said, addressing the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, "thanks to your attitude taken from my case, and I invite you to make your endeavors in order to enable the people of Bahrain to elect their government in a democratic way."
He added, "O the international Community, I am a prisoner for the same reasons Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for, equality, freedom, democracy, and the people of Bahrain calls for equality in citizenship, freedom and democracy and to support them is a moral duty and is the right attitude towards history. "
Salman continued, "I see that the International Community should support the right of the people of Bahrain to elect their government in a democratic way".
He sent a message to the protesters saying, "As you protest and demand for my release, demand to release all the political prisoners and never forget them, demand for your right to elect your government and do not distant this prime political requirement from your peaceful movement."
He added, "do not be saddened by my stay in prison, I am ready to spend my whole life as a prisoner for your sake and your children's happiness and their future."
He emphasized that his political demands which he was investigated for, were mentioned directly with the King, the Crown Prince, the Minister of Interior and the Minister of the Royal Court and stated it repeatedly in the Bahraini Parliament for his belief that the political reform door which Manama Document explained is a need to the present of Bahrain, its stability and progress, and to ensure the future of all its children.
Salman considered from his prison that the tribal and sectarian discrimination and marginalization of the people from the Legislature and the Executive authorities are the causes of the spiral of political crisis stressing on the need for a real and hard start in the democratic transformation and building the modern state on the basis of the first article of paragraph (d) of Bahrain Constitution, which states that "the regime in Bahrain is democratic, the sovereignty in it is for the people, the source of all the powers."
