Bahrain Mirror: The Bahrain Forum for Human Rights (BFHR) said that the statement issued by the National Human Rights Institution (NHRI), Bahraini state organization, contradicts with the principles of the institution and Paris Principles.

In response to a statement in which the institution criticized the Human Rights Watch's report highlighting the ongoing practice in Bahrain, BFHR said that the institution failed to follow up human rights complaints filed by the victims.

"NHRI was supposed to take initiative in following up the details of violations documented by the report and be independent in its decision making. It shouldn't be a partner in the practice of impunity and should stop performing such a role that whitewashes the authority's distorted human rights reputation, emerging from its serious human rights violations," BFHR added.
