11 Including Bahraini National Accused of Forming ISIS Cell in UAE

Bahrain Mirror: A local Emirati newspaper reported that members of cell linked to the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) stood before a high court in the United Arab Emirates on December 7, 2015. The cell comprised of 8 emiratis, a Bahraini, Syrian and Mauritanian national.

The paper added that the attesting witness in the case revealed that the defendants held gatherings and secret meetings in Al-Yahr Al-Ayn area to promote ISIS views and convince other suspects to join the group.

The high court, presided over by judge Mohammad Al-Jarrah Al-Tanaiji, listened to the attesting witness statements and decided to adjourn the case until December 21, 2015 for the defence to present its plea.

The eighth suspect (M. A), 34-year old Syrian, was assigned to send amounts of money to Syria while the ninth suspect (A. A), 25-year old Bahraini national, was responsible for contacting the first fugitive suspect and provide him with nutritional supplements and proteins to aid him during battles.
