Five Protesters Sentenced to Life in Prison over Manufacturing Explosives

Bahrain Mirror: A Bahraini court sentenced on Monday (December 21, 2015) 5 protesters to life imprisonment after the Bahraini Interior Ministry accused them of manufacturing, possessing and using explosives, as well as attempting to detonate a bombing.
Attorney-General Ahmad Al-Hammadi said that the Public Prosecution relied on evidence from the confessions of the first defendant and attesting witnesses to prove the charges against them.
A report issued by Human Rights Watch has cited testimonies confirming that the defendants are being tortured in order to make confessions that would convict them, calling on Bahrain to stop the torture in interrogation units, including criminal investigations department.
