Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): Al-Kooheji Family stressed in a statement that what was issued by the Bahraini Shura Council member Fatima Al-Kooheji expresses her personal views and does not reflect in any way the opinions or convictions of Abdul-Jabbar Al-Kooheji's sons.
This followed the wave of angry reactions to a statement by Fatima Al-Kooheji calling for the withdrawal of housing units from the families of the Bahrainis who were stripped of their nationality during the Shura Council meeting on Sunday (December 27, 2015).
These comments stirred up the Bahraini people who widely expressed their condemnation on social media, while critics and politicians said that they represented public hate speech delivered on the legislative authority's platform.
"We, the sons of the late Abdul-Jabbar Al-Kooheji, announce that we reject any transgression of the Bahraini social fabric comprising of all ideologies and sects even if it was committed by one of the legislative authority members of the Abdul-Jabbar Al Kooheji family. We are a family known for refusing the differentiation between the components of the Bahraini people and our services and social and commercial projects reach mosques, funeral homes, towns and villages without any discrimination", the family further added in a statement published in the local Al-Wasat newspaper.
