Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): Thousands of Bahrainis took to the streets on Friday (February 19, 2016) to voice their adherence to the demands of the popular February 14 uprising, calling for a democratic transition of power putting an end to the Al Khalifa family's monopoly over power.
In the Diraz area, a mass protest was held following Friday prayers, during which demonstrators held pictures of the "Bloody Thursday" victims. It was the day that witnessed the first attack on peaceful protestors rallying at the Pearl Roundabout in 2011, leaving 4 people killed and dozens injured.
Other rallies were staged in Al-Musalla, Karzakan, Sitra, and Al-Diah demanding the right of Bahrainis to self-determination and to put an end to the ruling family's monopoly over power. They also chanted slogans against the Bahraini king Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
