BCHR: 22 Peaceful Protests & 31 Arbitrary Arrests in Past Week

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahrain Center for Human Rights (BCHR) stated that it recorded 22 peaceful protests and 31 arbitrary arrests within the past week.
BCHR explained in its statistical report regarding the period from 15-21 February that 31 citizens were arrested including 6 children, stressing that 42% of these arrests took place after illegal house raids.
"We monitored 22 protests in 19 villages across Bahrain, 3 of which were suppressed by security forces," the center added.
BCHR further stated that "53 citizens were sentenced to a total of 170 years in prison, including tweeter Yousif Al-A'am and detainee Layla Al-Qasir," and the trials of "32 citizens including photographers Husam and Mahmoud Srour and Dr. Saeed Al-Samahiji were adjourned."
