Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Public Prosecution confirmed that it intends to pursue the Kuwaiti Member of Parliament Abdulhamid Dashti after he was sentenced to two years in prison over collecting money without a license, stressing that it addressed the Kuwaiti official authorities. As soon as the sentence is announced and the date of appeals comes to an end, the verdict will be final and an international arrest warrant will be issued through the Interpol.

Abdulrahman Al-Sayed, the first attorney general, said that the minor criminal court had sentenced on December 15, 2015 Dashti to two years in prison over the charges brought forth against him, noting that on January 7, 2016, the prosecution "addressed the competent judicial authority in Kuwait to take its measures and inform the defendant, Abdulhamid Dashti, about the verdict issued against him."

"As soon as the verdict is announced and the appeals date comes to an end, the verdict will be final and the prosecution will; therefore, take measures to arrest the defendant. An international arrest warrant will be issued through the Interpol as well," he added.

It is noteworthy that the Bahraini authorities convicted the Kuwaiti MP and human rights defender, Dr. Abdulhamid Dashti, the Secretary-General of the European-Bahraini Organisation for Human Rights, Hussein Jawad, and activist Abbas Baddah over charges of collecting money without a license. Activists deems this charge malicious and aiming at restricting the work of human rights activists.
