Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Ministry of Labour and Social Development stressed that all civil society organizations are obliged to attain a license before raising funds and accepting donations, further stating that these funds should not be exploited to support any illicit activities.
The Bahraini local Akhbar Al-Khaleej newspaper reported that the Assistant Undersecretary of Community Development at the Ministry of Social Development Khalid Ishaq said that any group that wants to offer or receive funds or donations from any party outside the Kingdom of Bahrain must file a request at the Labour and Social Development Ministry, specifying the nature and purpose of the donation as well as the party receiving or offering it. In case the ministry approves, the applicant must, within a period not exceeding one month, submit the necessary financial documents and papers.
