Bahrain Mirror: The Al-Wasat newspaper said that a number of citizens were denied visiting their families in Diraz that is witnessing a siege by the security forces since the citizenship of Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim was revoked on June 20.
"Some citizens made several attempts to enter Diraz and kept on moving from one entrance to another amid hot weather. However, all their attempts were in vain, so they returned to their houses without being able to congratulate their families and relatives in Diraz, which caused frustrations to Dirazis," according to the newspaper.
The newspaper reported a citizen as saying that she is a Dirazi and lives outside Diraz, and her mother is old. She came to visit her mother, but was not allowed to enter. She was told "let you mother visit you outside Diraz." She responded "My mom is old and can't move. How come you prevent me from congratulating her in such a day?"
It is to mention that the authorities blocked all Diraz entrances and only kept two, allowing the entrance of residents of Diraz. The authority took this move to prevent citizens from crowding in front of Sheikh Isa Qassim's house, where citizens have been staging protests since over 2 weeks.
