Bahrain Mirror: Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor, Tom Malinowski, stressed that treating prominent Shiite cleric Sheikh Maytham al-Salman as a criminal makes moderation a crime in Bahrain.
"Treating @MaythamalSalman like a criminal makes moderation a crime in #Bahrain contrary to all the gov claims to be," said Malinowski in a tweet on his official Twitter account.
Malinowski's comments come after the Bahraini authorities' recent measures, as they arrested Sheikh Maytham al-Salman and interrogated him for hours. The authorities later released al-Salman after raising the charge of "assembling" against him.
