Bahrain Mirror: A Bahraini court refused (on August 17, 2016) to release a Shiite cleric who suffers from health problems although the defence panel presented medical reports. The court, however, adjourned his case until August 21.
"The judge refused to release my 59-year-old father. There is a medical report proving that he suffers from disc in his back and neck," Mojtaba Al-Moamen, Sheikh Isa Al-Moamen's son, tweeted.
The authorities arrested Sheikh Isa Al-Moamen on August 7 over a sermon he delivered in Al-Kheif mosque in which he condemned the ongoing violations against Shia.
