Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Court of Cassation overturned a nine-year jail term against Al-Wefaq Secretary-General Sheikh Ali Salman.
In its session on Monday (October 17, 2016), the court of the cassation ordered to return Sheikh Salman's case to the court of appeals.
It is to mention that a court handed down on (June 16, 2015) four-year jail term to Sheikh Salman. However, the appeals court toughened on (May 30, 2016) Sheikh Salman's verdict, sentencing him to 9 years. This decision was widely criticized by Paris, London and Washington.
It is to mention that the Bahraini authorities arrested the opposition leader and Al-Wefaq Secretary-General Sheikh Ali Salman on December 28, 2014 and accused him of calling to change the regime by force and insulting Ministry of Interior and naturalized people.
