Bahrain to Host Defense Conference Presided Over by King’s Son Accused of Torture

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain announced on Wednesday (October 19, 2016) that it will host "the largest international defense exhibition and conference next year" 2017, which will be presided over by the King son, Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who is accused of torturing political activists in prison.
Nasser, who faces lawsuits in several European countries, said, "The organizing committee looks forward to coordinating all military and diplomatic joint efforts to promote cooperation between Bahrain and the International Community," according to Bahrain News Agency (BNA).
The committee expected that over 100 international manufacturers and suppliers of the latest military equipment, technology and systems will be present, in addition to more than 50 official military and political delegations.
The event is also decided to host a fixed display of the latest aircrafts and military vehicles, and is expected to display unique features, which include Live Parachute Exercises, Shooting Range Exercises, Warship Display and Military Vehicle Demos.
