Bahrain Mirror: The Gulf News "Akhbar al-Khaleej" newspaper known to have close ties with Bahraini Prime Minister, said that authorities postponed the auction to sell al-Wefaq belongings, until November 6.
The appraiser, Abdul Hamid Qassimi, who was assigned by the Execution Court, said that all the movable belongings of al-Wefaq will be presented at an auction as a single unit. He added that the bidding will take place in the court headquarters, and all those who wish to take part in bidding, will be given the right to examine all the belongings during the three days before the auction. However, he said that the movable belongings shall be placed in printed brochures and distributed to all bidders before the auction.
Qassimi pointed out that by virtue of the mandate given to him by the court, he is preparing a report on the value of the movable belongings. Based on the report, the judge will decide what price to start the bid with, and how to launch the auction.
He went on to say that an announcement with the new auction date will be published in the Official Gazette tomorrow at the request of the Execution Court, noting that the money earned from the auction will be transferred to the Judiciary, which will pay the fees accumulated on the [al-Wefaq] Society, such as rents, print fees and others. Qassimi also added that he does not expect the auction to achieve a big profit, because all what is in display is office furniture.
Moreover, the expert appraiser confirmed that all the movables are still inside the al-Wefaq headquarters in Zinj, Karana, and Malikiya, and information about moving them in trucks is not true. He added that only a few things were moved, most of which were computers and surveillance cameras, while desks, chairs, tables, and the rest of the furniture are still in place.
