Bahrain Mirror: The German News Agency reported that British Prince of Wales, Prince Charles, will arrive in Bahrain as part of his Gulf tour, and is scheduled to visit the British Military base stationed East of Manama.
The agency noted that the Prince's visit to Bahrain (this Tuesday), marks the 200th year anniversary of the first agreement between Bahrain and the United Kingdom, upon which the official relations between both countries were based, leading to the establishment of diplomatic, political, military, and sustainable economic ties.
Prince Charles will visit the Juffair British Naval base in Bahrain. The Juffair base, considered the first big British base stationed for the East of Suez since 1971, contributes a lot to the security protection of the region, according to the agency.
Human Rights Watch had previously accused the Prince of Wales of not caring enough about the "crushing of dissent" in Bahrain, in response to the official announcement of his detailed trip to the Gulf region.
Human Rights Watch also criticized the Government, which requested Charles and Camilla tour the region, for standing "squarely and cravenly" behind the Bahrain administration, which has been accused of a string of abuses since pro-democracy protesters were violently suppressed during the Arab Spring of 2011.
