Bahrain Mirror: A Kuwaiti court issued a ruling obliging Saudi Al-Arabiya TV Channel to compensate to Kuwaiti businessman Ali al-Matrouk for depicting him in a documentary on the political crisis in Bahrain.

The Kuwaiti court "compelled Al-Arabiya to pay a temporary compensation to al-Matrouk amounting to 5001 Kuwaiti Dinars", for what it broadcasted in its documentary "The Black Box of February Crisis - Bahrain".

The film has included the confessions of Bahraini opposition leaders extracted under torture. Al-Matrouk's name was mentioned as a "financier for buying weapons for the opposition, after he led a mediation at the request of Kuwaiti Emir Sabah Al-Ahmad Al Sabah to resolve the crisis in Bahrain."

Al-Matrouk confirmed at that point that he will "take necessary legal measures to sue Al Arabiya for broadcasting this slanderous accusation", and demanded the judiciary to be fair in providing the necessary compensation for him.

He also added that "I put all my effort and energy to make successful the mediation that His Highness Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah honored me with. However, the circumstances unfortunately were not conductive for the mediation. I ask God Almighty for the circumstances to be ready for the mediation to return, so calmness would be restored in this beloved hospitable country of Bahrain." "Nothing is better and more effective than dialogue in resolving disputes, and violence only leads to violence," he went on to say.
