Journalist Faisal Hayyat Receives 3-Month Jail Term over Tweet

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's court sentenced on Tuesday (November 29, 2016) journalist Faisal Hayyat to 3 months in prison.
The Bahraini authorities arrested Hayyat few days after writing an open letter to the Minister of Interior Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa related to being tortured in the Bahraini prisons after he was arrested in 2011.
The Ministry of Interior claimed that Hayyat "insulted a religious figure and a certain sect" in a tweet he posted on his social media platform.
Hayyat had posted a tweet in which he refused the authorities' interrogating preachers who talked in Ashura about Yazid bin Moawiya who ordered to kill Imam Hussein.
