Bahrain Mirror: The 37th GCC summit kicked off in Manama on Tuesday (December 6, 2016), stressing on finding solutions for the Yemeni and Syrian crises.

Saudi king Salman bin Abdulaziz said in his speech "Efforts are being exerted to end the struggle in Yemen in what could achieve security and stability under the leadership of its legitimate government."

As for the Syrian crisis "the repercussions  of the crisis adds pressure on the world community to intensify efforts to stop bloodshed and find a political solution guaranteeing the achievement of security and stability as well as preserving the unity and integrity of the Syrian territories," he added.

For his part, Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah said that his country underscores firm support "of a political solution that guarantees the integrity of the Syrian territories," stressing that the rapid international changes and critical conditions necessitate continuing consultations and joint coordination to consider and preclude relevant reflections on our countries.

The Emir highlighted the necessity of progress in fighting ISIS in Iraq and indicated that countering terrorism requires "our concerted efforts to eliminate this mounting threat".
