Bahrain Mirror: The fourth High Criminal Court decided to adjourn the trial of 24 defendants in the case of murder of 2 police officers, and the attempted murder of 6 others. The trials, along with that of al-Wefaq member Sheikh Hassan Isa, who is accused of financing a terrorist group, was adjourned until January 18, 2017, in order to attack copies of some defendants' verdicts to the case. This comes after the trial listened to witnesses in the case last Tuesday (December 20, 2016).
The witness said before the court, "We were abused and accused of treasure, and slogans stating that were written on my house personally, because we refused violence and vandalism." Moreover, the witness added, "Sheikh Hassan Isa is one of those who were abused and accused of treasure, because he adopted calls to stay away from violence."
Bahraini authorities have accused Sheikh Hassan Isa of financing terrorists on the basis of the financial assistance he provides for the families of detainees. The Public Prosecution claims that Isa had financed defendants accused of perpetrating a bomb in Sitra, which claimed the lives of police officers.
