Kuwaiti FM Confirms Supporting Iraq’s Anti-Terrorism Efforts

Bahrain Mirror: Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah confirmed during his visit to Baghdad Wednesday, his country's support to Iraq's anti-terrorism efforts.
In a statement issued by the Iraqi Prime Minister Office, Sheikh Al-Sabah met with Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi, and discussed "willingness to develop cooperative relations in all domains, and anti-terrorism efforts". They also discussed the Mosul liberation battle, and the latest developments in the region.
The ministerial statement added, "Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah confirmed his country's full support to Iraq in its war against terrorism".
On his part, Sheikh Al-Sabah said, "It is our duty to stand with Iraq for its important role in the region, especially in its anti-terrorism efforts."
The Kuwaiti official also met with Iraqi Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri and other officials, during his visit to Baghdad.
Iraqi-Kuwaiti ties were in a critical status since former Iraqi President, Sadam Hussein, ordered his forces to invade Kuwait in August 1990. Kuwait was then liberated after Iraqi forces were withdrawn by international coalition forces in January 1991.
In 2012, the Kuwaiti Emir Sabah Al-Hamad Al-Sabah took part in the Arab Summit that took place in Baghdad.
