Court Hands down 6-Month Jail Term to Mahdi Sahwan over Assembling in Diraz

Bahrain Mirror: The third minor criminal court presided over by judge Jaber Al-Jazzar and Hussein Yousif as a secretariat handed down on Thursday (January 12, 2017) 6-month jail term to eulogy citer Mahdi Sahwan over assembling outside Sheikh Isa Qassim's house in Diraz and taking part in an unlicensed gathering. The court acquitted Sahwan of charge of inciting hatred against the regime and set 100BD as a bail to stop the execution of the sentence.
The Public Prosecution brought 3 charges against Sahwan: inciting hatred against the regime, taking part in an assembly of more than 1000 persons and participating in an unlicensed assembly.
It is to mention that the same court had already issued two verdicts against Mahdi Sahwan, sentencing him to 6 months in prison over a case and 3 months over another case, noting that both cases are related to assembly.
