Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Public Prosecution announced on Thursday (January 19, 2017) the referral of president of Bahrain Center for Human Rights Nabeel Rajab to trial on Monday (January 23, 2017) over the charge of disseminating rumors.
A Bahraini court had decided on Wednesday (December 28, 2016) to release Rajab, however, the Public Prosecution refrained from executing the court's decision. The prosecution said that Rajab faces continued detention over disseminating false news and rumors in times of war that could harm Bahrain's internal situations.
The court released Rajab on a charge related to posting tweets on his "Twitter" account in which he condemned war on Yemen and violations practiced in Jaw prison. However, the prosecution brought new charge against him based on publishing an article last September about human rights deterioration in Bahrain.
Another session is supposed to be held on the same day to look into the first case.
