Bahrain Mirror: Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society Deputy Secretary General, Sheikh Hussein al-Daihi, said in a statement that the Bahraini regime is fully responsible for the deterioration of situation in Bahrain. He stressed that the regime is heading towards estrangement with the people. Al-Daihi also called on the international community to interfere and provide protection for the Bahraini people, in light of the breakdown of security and sectarian persecution in the country, before it is too late. He further warned the regime from the consequences of any adventure it would regret.
Sheikh al-Daihi's statement said, "The Bahraini regime attempted, for the first time since issuing the special decree pertaining to the National Security Agency, to suddenly attack, today dawn, the peaceful and unarmed protesters gathered near Shiite spiritual leader Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim's house in Diraz. They raided them with firearms, and then withdrew to the outskirts of the village, after tightening the siege. This clarifies the nature of the National Security Agency's special task, and confirms the conviction that the security system is one of the elements that aggravate the political status in Bahrain."
"Live bullets and shotguns were used in a way, through which the security forces deliberately caused injuries among protesters. This caused a fatal injury to young man Mostafa Hamdan (17 years old), who was shot with live ammunition despite being unarmed," he went on to say.
"At a time when we salute the sacrifice, valor, and firmness of our protesters in Diraz and other Bahraini areas, in defending their leader, Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, we further call for a broader gathering around Sheikh Isa, and for peaceful protests in various Bahraini areas, in condemnation and denunciation for these crimes", he further concluded.
