“Batelco” Trade Union Criticizes Commercial Pressure on Company, Discusses Temporary Employment

Bahrain Mirror: Head of "Batelco" Trade Union, Ali Jaafar al- Alraqraq , said, "Throughout 2017, the union will tackle the issue of temporary employees with the company, to clarify the extent of prejudice practiced against them over the years of their work [in the company]."
Al-Alraqraq confirmed that the union's role is to reveal was he called "the ambiguous role seeking the breakup of Batelco into small entities, the destruction of a real branch of Bahrain's economy, and the loss of a history of accomplishments." He also noted the pressure to be exerted on "Batelco" company in terms of offers, despite the fact that the company is supposed to have been an open telecommunications market for years.
During a union's meeting held Thursday (January 26, 2017) in the company's headquarters, the Head of "Batelco" Trade Union added that the union has paid off all requirement and late payments for around 4 years it hadn't paid its registration fees in.
