BFHR Records 216 Detentions in 1 Month

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain Forum for Human Rights said Thursday (February 2, 2017) that it recorded 216 detentions within a month, indicating that detainees are subjected to torture. Meanwhile, the Bahraini authorities continue to refuse the visit of UN Special Rapporteur on Torture.
The Forum's monthly report that recorded violations between December 28 and January 29, recorded 126 arbitrary arrests, 288 illegal raids, 118 torture and maltreatment cases, and 456 peaceful protests, among which 208 were raided.
Moreover, enforced disappearance continues, with 37 cases reported, and arbitrary detention verdicts were issued against 92 individuals, in a total of 570 years of prison. 3 executions were also reported. The BFHR report added.
