Bahrain Mirror: The high appeals court presided over by judge Mohammad bin Ali Al Khalifa and Naji Abdullah as secretariat upheld a verdict issued by the fourth criminal court sentencing two appellants to 15 years in prison after being convicted of carrying out a blast in Saar and acquiring explosive for terrorist aims. The court bound the suspects to pay 2288 BD and 55 fils for the damages caused to the vehicles owned by the ministry of interior and ordered the confiscation of seized items.
The authorities claim that on February 23, 2014, the two suspects agreed with other two unknowns to carry out a blast using a locally made bomb to be remotely detonated by a cell phone. They also agreed to blast it in a place where the police forces situate in Saar, aiming at disrupting public peace and injuring policemen, intimidating them and damaging them.
