Appeals Court: 10-Year Jail Term Handed down to 54 Suspects over Jaw Prison’s Incidents

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Appeals Court commuted the sentences issued against 54 defendants from 15 years in prison to 10, over the case of causing riots in Jaw Central Prison.
The first-instance court handed down on (January 25, 2016) 15-year jail term to 57 suspects over the case of causing riots in Jaw prison on March 10, 2015.
Human rights organizations condemned the violations practiced against detainees in the prison. The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights expressed his deep concern at the reports issued from Jaw prison in March 2015.
