Husband and Wife Receive 1-Year Jail Term for Hiding Wanted over Political Case

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's First High Criminal Court presided over by Judge Hamad bin Salman Al Khalifa and memberships of judges Dia'a Huraidi and Jamal Awad and Abdullah Hassan as secretariat sentenced Hussein Ali and his wife Hamida Al-Mokhawder to one year in prison over hiding a convict who is sentenced to 10 years in prison over a political case.
The court stated that based on the conditions and circumstances of the case as the fugitive is the second suspect's (the wife) nephew, the court has issued its sentence with mercy pursuant to the limits allowed by article 72 of the Penal Code.
The Public Prosecution accused the suspects of hiding a convict who is sentenced to 10 years in prison, between August and November 2016, in their house in Sanabis, despite knowing that he is a fugitive.
