Appeal: 5-Year Prison Verdict Upheld against Defendant over Blocking Roads, Assembly in Sitra

Bahrain Mirror: The Supreme Court of Appeal upheld a First Instance Court 5-year imprisonment verdict against a defendant, accused along 9 others, and ordered the confiscation of objects found in their custody.
Authorities claim that around 70 individuals among those demonstrating took to the streets on August 16, 2014 to the main road in Sitra, and blocked roads with iron barriers and concrete and wooden blocks. The claims add that when the policemen headed towards them, the individuals in the assembly attacked them with Molotov cocktails, stones, iron rods, while one of them caused an injury to a policeman in his neck, after firing using a shotgun rifle.
On this note, the authorities says it reached the ten defendants through its investigations, and those defendants were charged by the Public Prosecution of assaulting (on August 16, 2014) a policeman, while and because he was performing his duty, causing him injuries that need more than 20 days to heal. The prosecution also accused the suspect, along with other unknowns, of an assembly of more than 5 persons for a terrorist aim as well as acquiring Molotov.
