MoI Arrests Citizen from Bani Jamra, Accuses him of Calling for “Stance of Riffa Residents Against Traffic Law” Rally

Bahrain Mirror: The Director-General of Anti-corruption and Economic & Electronic Security announced on Sunday (April 2, 2017) the arrest of a man for circulating on social media calls for illegal rallies under the title "Stance of Riffa Residents Against Traffic Law". Such acts are punishable under Article 13 of Law 32 of 2006 which includes amendments to certain provisions of Law 18 of 1973 on public meetings, rallies and gatherings.
He added that the man was arrested at his house in Bani Jamra and legal action is being taken to refer the case to the Public Prosecutor. The Director-General asked people not to follow such calls as taking part in such rallies amounted to illegal activity.
