Bahrain Mirror: The Fourth High Criminal Court presided over by judge Ali bin Khalifa Al-Dhahrani and membership of judges Ousama Al-Shathili and Wael Ibrahim and Abdullah Mohammad as a secretariat handed down 3-year jail term to 5 suspects over burning tires and assembling in Al-Markh and sentenced 7 others, who are under 18 years, to 2 years in prison over the same charge.

The court convicted the defendants because on January 3, 2015, they, along with other unknowns, deliberately set fire to tires that would put people's lives and public money to danger, took part in an assembly of more than 5 persons aiming at disrupting public peace, noting that they used violence to achieve the aim they gathered for and acquired Molotov.

Since 2012, riot cases that go under the demonstrations and riot section of the penal code were adapted to apply to the terrorism law, if there were "terrorist" purposes behind them, such as attempted murder of a police officer, violating the provisions of law and endangering the lives of people and their properties, within the regime's framework of harshening penalties against protesters and activists.
