Bahrain Mirror: A Bahraini court postponed the lawsuit raised by 4 members of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) asking to cancel the appointment of the chamber's new Chief Executive Officer, until the June 12, 2017 hearing.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Legislation Committee asked that they be removed from the case as plaintiffs, clarifying that they are not involved in the subject of despite inside the chamber.

The plaintiffs based their argument on the invalidity of the contract as it doesn't comply with the restrictions set by law and its executive regulations, as the legislator imposes that the vacancy is declared in a statement. They also said that the contract was signed directly and in violation to all procedures, and the salary was agreed upon for an amount that is double the salary decided by the board.

Moreover, the invalidity of the chamber's decision is because it confiscated the right of both elected boards for 2 successive sessions, in appointing a CEO. By virtue of the contract between the chamber and the CEO, the chamber is required to keep the CEO for 8 coming years, otherwise the chamber would pay compensation that amount to 844 thousand and 800 Bahraini Dinars.
