Bahrain Mirror: A number of Jaw prisoners complained about ongoing restrictions on them and lack of food, as some of them spent days of Ramadan month without receiving Iftar meal.

The letter circulated by activists on social media outlets said that Jaw prisoners are still abstaining from visits since 4 months in protest against reducing the time of visits and putting barriers between the inmates and their families. The letter noted that inmates are being harassed, they are not allowed to leave their prison cells except to make phone calls and they are only allowed to buy "personal (hygiene) products like soap and other items," yet they are prevented from buying food.

The letter signed by a number of Jaw inmates added that the detainees wait for the meal time when the meals are eaten by more than 14 inmates in one prison cell. However, in the days of the holy month of Ramadan, "Iftar meals are distributed and when your turn comes you might be told that the 'meal is over' and so we continue our fast to the next day." The prisoners held the regime accountable for attempting to kill them by starving them to death.

Inmates called on people of Bahrain and Arab world to take action and post #Save_Jaw_Prisoners on social media outlets so that their voice would reach the world and everyone would know about their sufferings.
