Bahrain Mirror: Chairperson of the Bahrain National Institute for Human Rights (NIHR), Saeed Mohammad al-Faihani, said that the National Committee for Human Rights in Qatar is staging a misleading propaganda about "grave human rights violations caused by the gulf row." He expressed his surprise from details reported by the Qatari committee, which included "claims of Qatar being under siege and capital punishment."
Al-Faihani is heading a delegation in Geneva to rebuff the Qatar claims of suffering from human rights violations, after 3 Gulf countries cut diplomatic relations with it, and closed all aerial, land, and maritime borders.
The head of Bahrain's NIHR said his statement during a meeting with Ms. Katharina Rose, the representative for The Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI), at the Palais Wilson in Geneva.
Moreover, Al-Faihani called on the Qatari National Committee for Human Rights to do what it required from it as a national institute. He added that with its credibility and independence, the Qatari human rights committee should present aimful solutions for the Qatari government to halt its financing of terrorist groups, which violate human rights in countries boycotting it.
Al-Faihani claimed that "Qatar ought to do so instead of calling on international organizations to adopt measured imposing on boycotting countries to withdraw their sovereign decisions to protect their national security."
