Bahrain Mirror: Saudi local newspaper Al-Bilad said that the authorities in charge of Hajj affairs in Saudi Arabia introduced a new system this year for meals provided by campaigns for pilgrims. Campaigns are obligated to contract with one of the food companies available on the electronic portal throughout the duration of their stay in Mecca.
The system was implemented last year during Hajj rituals only, but this year will be applied throughout the campaigns' period of stay in Mecca, reported the newspaper.
Al-Bilad further stressed that the system did not specify the food companies to contract with, adding that the cost varies depending on the restaurant to be contracted with. It also noted that the cost of contracting with these food companies will undoubtedly be higher than the cost of having the meals provided by the Hajj campaigns themselves.
