Supreme Council of Health Pushes to Employ Unemployed Doctors in Private Hospitals, Says Nothing about Public Sector

Bahrain Mirror: The Supreme Council of Health stressed on necessity to start putting an effective national strategy to train and employ graduate Bahraini doctors, review the regulations and training and employment lists and overcome all the obstacles based on extensive study on this matter.

The head of Supreme Council of Health Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Khalifa pointed out the important role played by private hospitals in Kingdom of Bahrain, stressing the government's keenness to encourage the private sector to promote investments in the health sector.

Al Khalifa directed the high training committee to submit a comprehensive study to train doctors and prepare them for the labour market in the shortest possible time according to the international standards to prepare graduate doctors, give them the opportunity to start working in some medical fields while committing to the global standards, as well as studying the needs of private and public needs in the medical specialties for the coming year, according to the national health plan and create job opportunities for Bahrainis in all health sectors.

The meeting also tackled the need for coordination with the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) for its leading role in the preparation, development and training of Bahrainis in all fields, as well as coordination with the Ministry of Education to ensure that the future plan for the missions are compatible with the requirements and needs of the health sector for the coming years.
