Bahrain Mirror: Detainees held at the Jaw Central Prison began an open hunger strike in protest against the deteriorating conditions in the prison today on Saturday (September 9, 2017).
The detainees stressed that they will continue the strike until their demands are met. They called for improving the situation inside prison in terms of having "suitable living conditions" and enjoying "their full rights to move freely and freedom of worship."
Since the onset of the year, prisoners have complained about widespread violations practiced against them and even denial of their rights to pray and go outside to the prison yards.
