Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): The Bahrain Forum for Human Rights said it monitored the cases of continued enforced disappearance of 12 Bahrainis from the following four areas: Malikiyah, Diraz, Sanabis and Buri, including the case of Sayed Fadel Abbas Radhi, which has lasted over one year.

The forum explained in a statement that Radhi has forcibly disappeared since September 29, 2016, while Sayed Alawi Hussein Al-Mousawi's whereabouts have been unknown for almost a year now.

The forum pointed out that the number of days since citizen Mohammed Abdul-Hassan Al-Motaghawi's enforced disappearance has reached 139, and citizen Mohammed Abdul-Hussein Al-Motaghawi has reached 138 days. Meanwhile, the whereabouts of Jassem Abdul-Hassan Ramadan from Sanabis have been unknown for 36 days.

The Forum further noted that there have been three additional cases of forced disappearance in Sanabis since October 3, 2017: Sadiq Habail, Ahmed Habail and Ali Jawad, while those who have been forcibly disappeared from Buri since October 4 are: Montadhar Hasan Al-Marakh, Mohsen Ahmed Al-Marakh, Mohammed Hassan Al-Farsani and Nidal Abdullah Al-Marri.

The forum also highlighted that the security authorities have used a number of local legislations such as the law that protects society from acts of terrorism and the military justice law, which both allow security authorities to commit a number of violations, including the crime of enforced disappearance, in violation of article 9, paragraph 3 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
