Government Tends to Increase Postal Services Fees

Bahrain Mirror: The Al-Ayam local newspaper said that the government tends to increase the postal services fees to change the sector into a "profitable government association", instead of providing postal services in return for symbolic fees.
The newspaper added that the institution will appoint an Executive Director for it, so that he puts the economic strategy to increase financial revenues from this important economic sector, noting that the government would submit a bill to Parliament during the coming session to consider converting the postal sector into a profitable government association.
Two years ago, the Bahraini government canceled subsidies on items like meat, increased oil prices and imposed new taxes after the global oil prices fell.
