Bahrain Mirror: The seventh minor criminal court (specialized in traffic cases) in Bahrain sentenced a 22-year-old Gulf national to one month in prison, also fining him 500 Bahraini dinars for making a rude gesture at the speed camera, which caught him exceeding the speed limit.
The accused was speeding in his vehicle back to his country via the King Fahd Causeway, but he was surprised by one of the speed cameras which took a picture of him. This caused him to make obscene gestures with both of his hands directed at the camera.
As soon as the young man arrived at the checkpoint located at the King Fahd Causeway, he was arrested, after the circular was issued on the specifications of his vehicle by the operations room of the Traffic General Directorate.
The court found that the young man had publicly carried out public obscenity and had exceeded the speed limit in a vehicle.
